The Frank Lloyd Gallery is pleased to announce our participation in the 2016 Palm Springs Fine Art Fair. Set to coincide with Palms Springs Modernism Week, the Fair will host over 60 galleries. We are proud to present the work of four major artists: Larry Bell, John Mason, Ken Price, and Peter Voulkos.

Larry Bell became known for his investigations into intangible perceptual phenomena in the 1960s. Bell achieves complex visual effects, creating objects that absorb, transmit, and reflect light. He will be represented by new works on paper and sculptural pieces.

John Mason's work over the last six decades presents a compelling argument for abstract sculpture. Emerging in the mid-1950s, Mason is recognized as one of the leading artists whose work elevated clay from a craft medium to fine art. The gallery will present a cross form that illustrates Mason's persistent interest in formal issues and geometry.

Ken Price returned to the cup format many times over the course of his career, working through variations on the familiar object as a jazz musician improvises on a melody. The inherently small size of a cup complemented Price's exploration of scale. Price is represented by two cups from the 1960s.

Widely known for his groundbreaking work in clay, Peter Voulkos played a pivotal role in the liberation of ceramics from the craft arena. The gallery's booth will include two rough-hewn plates, which push the traditional form well past utility and into the realm of abstract sculpture.
